hello friends we have company for internet service so we have dude server i want to share my dude server maps with my partner but i dont want may partners se all maps i want to create user for them with limited permission so is there any way to do that
Not in the Dude, basically there is database & user has either read/write or read. It’s policy system is even worse the RouterOS…
But… if it’s just the maps or a map…
One approach is to use webfig to show them. While webfig [unforentely] does not show very much from the dude, it would show all the maps. But webfig has another trick to help here, the “Status Page” & skins. So you should be able to take a Dude chart shown in webfig & in the skin designer use the “Add to Status” button to. And new Status section will appear on left side, with your map. You can save your custom skin with the status showing the one map (and other customizations in a skin) & the set that to some user group in that you put your partner’s login into that group. You can further restrict that winbox on that user so no Dude/winbox access.
The old docs for webfig talk about the Status page. And newer docs about skins: https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/WebFig#WebFig-Designingskins
You should look at webfig, but I just tried to do this & the SVG with Dude map in webfig is NOT controllable by skins… But a skin can limit what a user would see to just all maps. It them seeing only one map that be a problem.
i ask chat gpt he give me this answer
///
Create a User Account:
• In the Dude window, go to the Tools
menu.
• Select Users to open the user management window.
• Click the + button to create a new user.
• Fill in the necessary details like
Username and Password.
3. Set Permissions:
• Under Permissions, you can define what the user can or cannot access:
• Full Access: Gives the user full control over the maps and settings.
• Read-Only: Allows the user to view the maps and monitoring data but not make changes.
• Custom Permissions: If you need to restrict access to certain maps, select this option and then adjust the permissions accordingly.
4. Assign Map Access:
• In The Dude, r-s are generally managed on a. er-user basis. To limit
I think ChatGPT has already had too many drinks.
Let me know how well that works out for you. Dude’s permissions follow Winbox permission, and that level of granularity isn’t possible. If not, please let me know.
• Custom Permissions: If you need to restrict access to certain maps, select this option and then adjust the permissions accordingly.
If ChatGPT has Dude source code and can send a patch to the Mikrotik team, that would be good
