Eth. Protocol in Torch

If I run a torch session on an IP I see for instance traffic with “Eth. Protocol” 800 (ip)? In the Protocol column it actually states; “6 (tcp)”

So, what is this “Eth. Protocol” actually?
I ‘googled’ a bit but actually I don’t find an explanation. Can anybody tell me what it actually is?

according to the Wireshark wiki, (the first Google hit when you search Ethernet protocol 800) IP is Ethernet type #800, so it likely literally means that, its an Ethernet interface and it sees IP on it.

Within IP #6 is indeed TCP

Ok, thanks. I understand now.
It just means “ordinary IP traffic over the Ethernet”. OK.
I really haven’t seen that link. But than again, sometimes I look something up, browse or drift away and to start all over again with the same search pattern (word) and definitely am presented with links that weren’t there the first time… Google search results are very variable…

I think Location can also play a big part.
I am in Canada, quite a step from Spain
