Hi there guys.
I am new to Mikrotik.
Have an old RouterBOARD 750G router from my friend.
How can I set it up in order to work with my ExpressVPN subscription (from them have dounloaded .ovpn file).
Thanks a lot for your attention and help in this matter!
Hi guinnessMD this is bhavana, me too new to mikrotik. here is the answer for your question. To set up your RouterBOARD 750G router to work with your ExpressVPN subscription, you need to download the OpenVPN configuration files from ExpressVPN. You can do this by going to the ExpressVPN setup page and selecting OpenVPN. after you downloaded the configuration files, you need to upload them to your router. To do this, you have to log in to your router’s web interface and go to the Files page. Click the Upload button and select the configuration files that you downloaded from ExpressVPN. Once the configuration files have been uploaded to your router, you will need to configure the router to use OpenVPN. To do this, go to the VPN page and click the Add button. Select OpenVPN Client from the list. Click the OK button to save the VPN configuration. Once the VPN configuration has been saved, you can connect to ExpressVPN by clicking the Connect button.
I cannot find VPN page on the router… where to find it???
I sow couple of comments on internet about VPN page… but in my router, that is on latest OS, is not such a page. But it is strange, as in Quick Setup exist VPN option that resumes at one site and one username - ‘vpn’ and asks only for password… in ExpressVPN on openvpn I have the user and password and site as well.
Apparently there is no way to get OpenVPN client working on mikrotik as it does not support couple of features needed for ExpressVPN !!!
Does anyone succeed on installing ExpressVPN via OpenVPN on any mikrotik router?
“Currently unsupported OpenVPN features:
UDP mode
LZO compression
TLS authentication
authentication without username/password”
So I think this topic can be closed as ExpressVPN requires UDP mode and TLS auth and those are not supported by mikrotik!
