expressvpn problem

Hello to all,
I would like to use expressvpn to access dazn.com
to log in I have to set up the city of toronto

with their windows application using openvpn or l2tp it works

on mikrotik setting l2tp tells me that I do not have access because I’m in an incorrect nation

However, if I check with whatmyip or other similar sites, I turn to Toronto

what can I do?
thank you all

You need to make sure that all data is forced over the VPN connection.
And that the client requesting the info from expressVPN DOES NOT HAVE A GPS UNIT IN IT / OR THE GPS IS SPOOFED OR TURNED OFF.
(Dealt with this months ago.)

After I got the expressVPN to work with l2tp+ipsec and a server that was not already blacklisted… my laptop would access sites over the VPN. But my neighbors iphone would not. Because of the GPS. Hooked up an Amazon fire… problem solved.

I use the windows 10 pc
if I use vpn app windows no problem. inactive application and I switch from mikrotik vi vpn does not work

Use this as a basis…
https://support.hidemyass.com/hc/en-us/articles/204558497-Mikrotik-Client-Setup

Change the info to using expressVPN and l2tp+Ipsec.
But this is what I used and it worked.

The problem is that the servers would get banned again and you would need to try several servers to find one that was not banned.
Finally expressVPN found that ALL THERE SERVERS THAT WERE USING l2tp+IPSec had been banned by the service my neighbor was looking to use. So… contacted the neighbor’s parents. Sent them a Mikrotik. Set it up for them. Then connected to the parents VPN. Route all traffic from one SSID over that VPN… service never banned the parents… neighbor watches his baseball games.

on mikrotik use l2tp + ipsec. both pc, smart tv and firestick are in vpn, at least verified with the whereismyip sites

none of my devices bypasses site control.

I do not know what to do

Does the express VPN client use THE SAME SERVER as the mikroitk?

As I pointed out… some servers get banned from a service. I tried about a dozen servers before I found one that was not blocked by netflix.

I was in the US… but the client “had heard about VPNS being safer.” So he wanted us to make all his traffic go over the expressnet VPN. I warned him that many VPN services get black listed by Netflix… and that turned into back and forth with ExpressNet. They gave me a VPN server to use that worked… for a while. Then it got banned.

This lead to me making 2 SSID one for entertainment devices and normal use. Then one for “secure browsing” (his term… not mine) forced all traffic over the VPN. The other… just out the ISP. The ISP one never had an issue with Amazon Prime, Netflix, or MLB TV. Devices connected to the “secure SSID” can’t access any of those sites.

in the windows app there is toronto and toronto 2.
on the l2tp server list of the expressvpn site there is both toronto and toronto 2.
both with mikrotik do not go

can you enable me to write to you in private?
thank you

Do you have any other suggestions?

First… Connect to the windows VPN.
Do whatsmyip.org
Disconnect windows VPN
Connect to Mikrotik to VPN
Do whatsmyip.org

Do the numbers match?

I found with expressnet… That they did not.
Windows client was openVPN, and connected to a different server than the IPSec one.

So if a service provider bans an IP… It happens to be the server you are using…

My advice would be… Get a friend in the area that is in the right area. Offer to pay some amount of his internet bill and vpn to them.

Tonight I’ll try and tell you

thank you

Hello
I did some tests. ip through mikortik / express is always different with each reconnection. Even using windows express ip application is always different.

however with express via windows it always works with mikortik never

with windows application I tried setting opentvpn and l2tp (like mikrotik) and it goes.

so it’s not the protocol’s fault

will it be some filter I have in the firewall?

please help me :frowning:

I do second the idea of gotsprings, you will have to change the information to use ExpressVPN. The service does not support MikroTik routers by default. You will need to go through a trial and error phase to find one server that is not banned. Therefore, you should contact their customer support to setup ExpressVPN on MikroTik router manually.

For more information about ExpressVPN, you can read in detail.

ok thanks
