Extensive data loss

Im seeing this way to many places for it to be a client side issue…

I have quite a few APs that serve wifi customers at hotels…We are seeing many times where someone will continously keep trying to reconnect over a period of serval hours..

all we see in the logs is:

Extensive data loss..
and then a connection 3-10 seconds later…
and extensive data loss again.

SOme of these are on APs where the client has a -70 to -85 signal…anything less i write off as true extensive data loss

We mostly have 8602 radios, but have seen this on cm9’s we have too…MT versions on all APs is greater than 2.9.25

any ideas? or anyone else seeing this?

I have no solution

but yes, i see this often.
Sometimes channel change helps, sometimes not

I’m sort of waiting for v3 to hope it gets fixed

any response MT?

I mean it s a pretty big issue when i have clients who call in and cant seem to connect to my APs but have no issues at home, or when i send them to another location where there is a cheap Linksys wifi Router…

extensive data loss is not a very helpful log message in this sistuation..i can understand it when i’m dealing with someone and a -90 or worst RSSI.

thanks.

I think RouteroS is very stable & fast, I do think there is some kind of interference that it can’t cope to well from.

My Home is a classic, link is -69 it will drop, I can scan and see AP but will not connect.

I get this on about 5% of my clients.
