Hello,
We have been contemplating on using MT as dialup server, but apparently there is good support only for serial modems through various cards like Cyclades etc. And even in this case, we would need as many external modems as the card supports, not to mention that this would support only analog dialup users.
A great number of dialup users in Europe use ISDN. MT supports all the ISDN4Linux cards, but these all have 1 BRI port per card, supporting 2 users or 1 user with bonding.
All this makes MT a solution for very small scale dialup server.
MT could become a great dialup server if support could be added for more ISDN interfaces like the Eicon Server cards (BRI + PRI) since they can support both analog and ISDN dialup users. There are many more ISDN cards out there some with integrated modems, and some with higher number of ports/card.
Such support would be a great addition for MT. Is there anybody who shares the same opinion?
Regards,
Vlasis.
