Hi,
As we all know, mlppp client is supported only on pppoe protocol, and it would be a killer feature to support it on PPTP at least, and L2TP if possible.
I know MLPPP is quite old, but it’s well supported at other vendors, and there’s some free implementations available. Even some other opensource router software support it with no issue.
To say the least, it’s an old but still current protocol that can solve a lot of situations where other protocols fails to do the job.
Development side, MK developpers can use username/password tuple to identify it’s an MLPPP link even if it’s not pppoe, so it shouldn’t be too hard/long to code ( cost less to developp ).
We could even help with that implementation if needed, we have some devs working on embedded devices here.
That support would make MK boards our primary CPE, which we can’t use today as many of our customers are with us because of MLPPP over PPTP.
I’ll be please to help so don’t hesitate to contact me if needed,
Regards, Gled.
