Hallo
Is there any new about when mikrotik support the feature of OpenVPN compression LZO and UDP?
I think its very important. All VPN companies support OpenVPN and in future their servers will stop support PPTP & L2tp protocol.
+1000
+1 please
+1 !
i second that. mikrotik has always been feature-rich, please stay that way!
+1 for UDP support. please.
No UDP, no LZO and no SHA2 (SHA512) authentication and not a single response from MikroTik what so ever…
It basically means I can’t use OpenVPN.
Creating a tunnel on each device behind the router is not an option, not to mention highly impractical. Adding a device to create a tunnel before the router isn’t possible, adding one directly behind it renders the router useless.
I regret having bought a MikroTik router…
There are not many commercial routers (with their original firmware, not “hacked”) that support OpenVPN.
OpenVPN is mostly a machine-to-machine VPN that “crosses” routers but rarely it is terminated on them.
According to Normis UDP support is coming in v7:
We’ve seen similar teasers years back regarding the new BGP in v7.
Unless v7 is actually released to the public, that changelog entry doesn’t mean much IMHO…
What good is it to anyone if it takes years to release it?
Huge shame. I couldn’t use ProtonVPN due to this. It doesn’t accept:
- LZO
- SHA2
- tls-auth key
so far…
I’m waiting the implementation of LZO and sha512 on routeros
pls support UDP
This is crazy. Users are begging Mikrotik to include OpenVPN UDP with LZO yet they get completely ignored.
I’m moving all my client’s hardware away from Mikrotik in the future (there are also some other reasons for that - eg.: terrible WiFi performance and some other bugs). Mikrotik is in comparison to competitors completely stagnating.
