Please review a possibility to prepare and send report from dude about object on the map.
This may be useful when we send alarm only during working hours. As a result some host may goes down out of this hours and we will not know about this until we saw them on the map next day.
Definitly joining the club, … would be a nice thing for networks where you can only send status mails out or only dial-in access is avail !
Tried to build a script which fetches the netmap-status via https from it’s own webfig and sends out a mail … failed … seems this is for grown up’s.
In addition … it’s like wiping your own booty, than making a polaroid of the result and sending the polaroid to the doctor for further investigations (pardon my french).
When I look into the CLI it seems the nuts are there … only lack of the bolts (it’s in webfig … it’s in the dude-exe … so it has to be in the system)
For connected networks I customized webfig to show only the relevant dude menues and then sending a scheduled mail with local machine-status plus the link to my customized webfig.
Since these networks a reachable it’s a viable workaround, but in unaccessible networks or even networks where access is only allowed over secured gateways under “parental guidance” … nope.
I guess the priorities are elsewhere in the moment ( I know … don’t mention the v7-word !).
