I have a customer that needs minimum 5 meg upload guaranteed.
I uderstand queuing is generally to allow max bandwidth.
Basically how do I guarantee a minimum 5 meg upload.
I have customers that I can turn down to allow for the 5 meg upload.
As I have a 30/5 connection. I know the existing are going to be sucking air if I try to guarantee the 5 meg up to one customer.

You really can’t. If the internet gets really busy, or has a failure, you might not get that from your provider, and if they can’t provide that bandwidth to you, you can’t provide it to your customer.
You can provide your customer with a 5 meg maximum limit, or even an unlimited limit, but neither would absolutely guarantee 5 meg minimum.

Well that confirms my dilemna. I guess the best I can do is keep all the other customers throttled/queued and hope for the best.
This customers is paying fairly large $$ on the assumption that he’ll have the 5 meg to do HD streaming for a sporting event (TV)! like $3SPN… SO, I’m crossing fingers.
I can consistently get 8 meg up via speed test but ofcourse no load.
I’ve even got them they’re own PTP bridge from a single static IP from my provider. Though I do have 2 other RB750gs connected to the same cable modem each with their own IP.
No way to Prioritize the one IP/router/PTP ?

I think they’'ll be ok with ~3.5 - 5 meg. … I hope…
