I recently purchased a new hAP Ac router.
I decided to change the previous model I was using for a more recent device [I was using a RB951G-2HnD).
I am getting a wireless throughput that doesnt exceed the 65Mbps which is really low.
Is there any default setting that I might need to change?
Connection seems pretty slow.
It happens on both 2.4 & 5GHz, which by the way I was expecting a better performace since the spectrum is clean.
Thanks for your help.
Reset the device to defaults and try to reconfigure it with QuickSet (from the web interface). Choose HomeAP-Dual mode. It contains the optimal defaults for a good throughput in standard situations.
Thank you for your prompt reply.
Based on your experience, what would be a decent throughput in a standard situation? What should be considered acceptable (using wireless).
Thank you
Luis
If your laptop has a good wireless chipset and a 3 chain antenna (like a Macbook pro) you can get 500Mbit over wireless. Sometimes even more. Depends on how you do the test, if there is interference nearby, etc.
Hi
Yes I think my problem resides on the hardware itself, laptop probably doesn’t hace a good wifi card since I am getting less than 200mbps.
On mobile phones is actually worst, < than 65 mbps.
