Good day! I have a mini project that will handle 50-100 wifi users. They will connect through outdoor access points.
The main functionality that I need for my MikroTik is, prioritize gaming over browsing and download. when user download is detected limit the bandwidth, then if time=2am pause/disable the bandwidth limit. then if time =6am start/enable the bandwidth limit. Will hap ac2 do the work? or I need more power like RB4011?
mode=ap-bridge allows 2007 clients

However if you want good results you should use 2-3 Access points for your 100 clients…
OP stated

So I gather he’s asking if hAP ac2 is capable of firewalling/queuing/shaping/… that many users. It’s not a question about WiFi part after all.
I’d say that the data provided by OP (“prioritize gaming over browsing and download”) is not really sufficient. Answer partially depends on uplink bandwidth. My guesstimate (without any solid base) is, that hAP ac2 would be able to do some serious routing/queuing up to around 100Mbps. Perhaps slightly higher depending on complexity of queues. Or lower if number of concurrent connections gets very high.
Well, my guestimate can be correlated with test results after all … if gaming connections will mainly use small size packets, then the figure which might be somehow relevant, is the lower right figure in table “Ethernet test results” …

I missed that…
Well personally i would suggest you to use the RB4011…
I would be surprized if the hap ac2 couldnt handle 50-100 users on the router side??
The only question I have is how to best setup queuing or load balancing so that the available bandwidth from the provider is fairly distributed.
As stated the limiting factor will be the ISP connectivity. What are the up/down speeds? How many WAN connections/providers are there?
