HAP AX2 dead

As of this morning I found that my HAP AX2 router seems to be non responsive. When I plug it into the mains power only the blue PWR led is lit on the back. None of the usual lights on the front are illuminated. When I plug a network cable into any of the ports, the respective numbered led blinks slowly 3 times and then stops and nothing else happens.
I’ve attempted to do a hard reset however this didn’t seem to work either, no leds flash, winbox discovery by MAC does not result in any success either.
Any tips on how to further debug before I go through the hassle of sending it back under warranty?

Cheers

Try another power supply?

I’ve tried a similar power supply from another router but the result is unfortunately the same.

You can try a netinstall:

https://help.mikrotik.com/docs/display/ROS/Netinstall

After trying several times to reset according to the available guides, the device doesnt seem to even appear in netinstall. Literally the only led that is consistently on is the blue power diode. none of the others indicate any activity at all.

Don’t you have 2 years of warranty? ax2 is not to long on the market i think, so you shouldn’t really care if it’s dead, just send it out for replacement.

Usually one buys Mikrotik devices from a distributor. It is the first one you should contact if suspecting a hardware issue. The distributor is also the one who can assist you get your device up again if this is not an hardware failure.

Unfortunately the distributor in Poland from which I bought the device only offers a 12 month warranty. It’s true that default EU policy states 24, but any policy stipulated by a local company takes precedence.

I’ve written to MikroTik as well and they seem unable to assist either.

So unless anyone has any other tricks I can try, I’ve got a nice looking and very expensive paperweight on my desk.

It happened to me this morning also.
Only blue pwr led is on.. none of the others indicate any activity at all.
Can someone from Mikrotik advise if there is something I can do or it’s dead and I have to see if it’s still under warranty?
Thnx

Hello.

Did you recover it?

My router MikroTik hAP ax² broke in exactly the same way. I received it in the mail yesterday (the seller didn't include a full warranty card). I set it for a light test with one rarely used client, and today the router is dead.

Only the power light is on after the LAN port LEDs are blinking.

The router isn't getting hot. It's not responding to recovery procedures.

I ended up buying a new hap ax2 with 5 years extended warranty. Its not a problem I want to deal with again and hope it was an isolated issue. I still have dead router in my drawer.
