Good morning
I’m new to networking and MikroTik, I recently took a Network+ course from CBT Nuggets to get a basic overview of networking and ip addresses. This has led me done a rabbit hole of things I want to do. This also in part to see the beautiful server racks on Reddit.
In that, I stumbled upon EVE-NG and thought about making a lab of my network to play around and test settings and configurations so I don’t keep losing internet access. But that is a whole other monster in itself to understand. 
I have plans to create a Proxmox server cluster [for now] with some computers I have laying around. Mostly to test its capabilities and see about hosting my own things and getting rid of subscriptions. Hopefully to have my own rack of servers, disk, etc providing white noise for me to sleep in my room. But I “digress”.
In preparation for that I brought a hap ax3, an unmanaged switch and a managed switch. This is to replace a decommissioned TP-Link Archer AX73 mostly used as plug and play. [may use as a AP later with better understanding]
As soon as I booted the hap ax3 I was hooked even though I didn’t [still don’t] know what I’m doing. Just the fact that there are so many options and I can leave stupid comments. I have lost internet countless times and have had to reset my router more times then I can count. I have decided to stick with the default configuration for now.
I have tried different configurations including creating vlans with their own bridge that includes their own IP addresses, WIFI networks and DHCP Servers. Any assistance would be appreciated or any other materials I would need to study or comprehend.
I wanted to create vlans for the following:
- Trusted/recognized network devices
- Guest network
- Servers [proxmox, Eve-NG, VMs, etc…]
- IOT/Security [don’t know if I should separate them?]
- Pi-Hole ? [Was originally connect to to a ether on the HAP AX3, but has been disconnected]
