hap lite vs hap ax lite

Ubiquity Light beam setup in routing mode and obtains dhcp address from my billing system. The light beam ethernet IP is 192.168.30.1/24.
The hap lite and hap ax lite are in bridge mode with ip of 192.168.30.2/24 with gateway of 192.168.30.1.
Service ports 8291 for winbox access and for testing 8080 is also forwarded to port 80 on the hap lite and hap ax.

The hap lite is roteros version 6 where the hap ax is version 7

The hap lite service port allow list is empty.

I turn on these fowards to access the router to change ssid/password and for tech support issues then turn it back off when finished.

This has worked flawless for my needs as a small wisp owner for years.

However, when I install a hap ax vs 7 router I can’t get it to work. There are no firewalls, everyting is in bridge mode. In the allow list of the service I have tried leaving it blank, and i’ve set it to 0.0.0.0, 0.0.0.0/24, 192.168.30.1, set it to my public ip network, set it to my workstation IP that i’m trying to log into it from. Nothing works and always says connection refused.

I change back to the hap lite, or any of the hap ac routers and work as well.

Any suggestions?

There has has been resolved but with a caveat.

When my lightbeam is setup for pppoe authentication I am unable to reach the hap ax. I can reach the hap lite units.

When I change to dhcp authentication I can reach both the hap ax and hap lite.

I don’t have a clue why pppoe auth will now allow the port foward but the dhcp auth does.
