hAP mini keeps on rebooting

I was tinkering with my hAP mini while watching what I can do with mikrotik os in youtube. I went too far I guess. I wanted to install userman to it, downloaded the latest version, nothing happened. Downloaded the 6.38 package and copied it to the file and rebooted. Boom! It did not work anymore… I downloaded netinstall to flash my hAP mini but I cannot see the MAC. Any other means to revive this? Thanks

Either you ran out of space or something else happened, the hAP mini is certainly not an optimal choice for a user manager server …

If not showing in Netinstall, possible problems:

  1. Not using first ethernet port on the router
  2. Not holding the button correctly or long enough (push button before applying power, keep holding until you see the device in Netinstall)
  3. Windows not running as administrator
  4. Windows firewall/antivirus/defender blocking it
  5. Not connecting cable directly from Ether1 to PC

Thank you for your reply. I will try your options later. Although I don’t think that my hAP mini can still be revived, I am grateful for this forum for the enlightenment. I still have my Metal working as of now. It took me hours to set it up as bridge but it works now. Thanks

Read the document that came with it to factory reset it. If that doesn’t work, try netbooting it. Don’t give up on a piece of hardware because you think you bricked it. Learning how to unbrick it is a very valuable lesson. Being confident that you can recover a device pretty much no matter what makes you much more valuable.

After more than a year I finally was able to revive my little device but not without a fight. At first I tried to netinstall it using Win 10 but it did not went through. Netinstall was not able to find my device. Went to the other office and tried netinstall in Win 7 still to no avail although the device was found and the device was not rebooting. Went back to my office and tried once again in Win10 and VOILA! It was a success! I am using it again now! Thanks to all who read and contributed… I have learnt something new todays!

Have the same problem, suddenly my hap mini not showing hot-spot AP and the LAN connection keep connect and disconnect, i assumed my device was keep rebooting due to custom hotspot page that i uploaded cause storage to 0%. My attempts to resolve as bellow

  1. Reset using reset button
    I tried many times to reset by holding reset button before powering up as mentioned above, but my device keep rebooting
    FAIL

  2. Download Net install
    Ran it as administrator then perform reset button again but not showing my devices. Not sure if i already allow connection.

3.Copy paste net Install to new folder [V]
I copied paste net Install to new folder so when i ran it again it prompted me allow connection

  1. Disable all Firewall [V]
    Since i’m using win10, i have to off firewall for domain, private and public. Then re run step no 1. VIOLA my device showed up.

  2. Download and install router OS [V]
