Hardware Offload or Not Hardware Offload

I am working with a CRS 326 version 6.48.6 long term.

On this device I have some critical traffic (EF and AF) that needs to be prioritized on the egress ports.

Hardware offload is turned on for all the ports.

Should I disable hardware offload and use the QOS via connection mark/packet mark and Q-Tree.

I am not looking for line speed I am looking to prioritize DSCP 46,30 and 26 which I have a script for and have added to the routers.

My only concern is that this is a single CPU appliance and sending everything to the CPU may effect performance.

Thanks for your input.

Paul

If you use the device for mark the connections, you drop the total bandwidth because is a switch, not a router,
all traffic pass inside CPU instead pass only to switch chip…

Only 1.3Gbps max
