hey … not sure what you mean … mac addresses are assigned to each device when manufactured and they cannot be changed … arp tables associate the devices mac to an assigned ip address …
MAC addresses on most cards can be overridden by software when initializing. This means the MAC address in the card wont be changed permanently, but for the time the card is running.
