I am using a pair of Netmetal 5’s for a PTP link on an AM tower. Shielded Cat 5 for the power to ether port, Mikrotik GBIC’s for the fiber and Mikrotik media converters, so everything is Mikrotik. Everything has worked great for about a year no problems until recently. Radio keeps locking up anywhere from a couple of hours to about 30+ hours and has to be power cycled to restore connectivity (have set ping watchdog to eliminate constant oversight). Have tried three different radios at the location as well as media converters (all new out of the box) and same thing keeps occurring. I also have three Netmetal 5 AP’s on the tower same setup configuration with no problems, just this one PTP radio. All ideas and suggestions welcome.
