I have installed RouterOS 4.3 on an IBM 3Ghz proc/1GB RAM/80GB HDD and configured web proxy with 30GB cache size.
I have some troubles with proxy cache. The CPU consumption rest to 100% for about 5min when I reboot system. I think it happen when “building cache” process is running. Is that normal?
I have unexpected 100% CPU consumption even after some hours that system was rebooted. After deactivated web proxy, CPU consumption was dropped (to 2-15%).
Maybe large amount of cache causing that? What can I do to normalize it?
ON non multi-cpu systems this is normal. After reboot the system rebuilds its cache from the disk contents. Don’t konw if this cache goes into RAM (very well may) so its not stored, but larger the cache longer times!
My processor is dual core but I have problems when it was configured RouterOS to run with dual cores. When I did multi-cpu=no looks like situation was normalized.
So, I have no change (except reducing cache size) to reduce time of high processor consumption ?
