Hotspot - Apple "auto-login"

Good day

I have a few hotspots running, but whenever an Apple IOS device connects to the network, the default setting under (settings-wifi) on the mobile device is set to “auto login”, this then causes the user to get a login error. Is there a way to make sure that users devices do not attempt to login automatically like this?

Regards

I don’t understand, why do they get login error? Normally they should be getting the login page, because iOS devices attempt to open a random Apple.com page, to verify if you have internet connectivity, and if not, offer you to open the Hotspot login page.

The login page tries to open and then it just gives an error and disconnects from wifi, you then have to turn off the automatic login and reconnect. When you open a web page manually it works.

Any ideas?

Had the same problem with a chilispot,
simple workaround was to allow traffic to apple.com thatway the iOS device think its online and does not crash.
For me it seemed to be related to the complexity of the login page, but did not investigate further, because the workaround was quicker and I had no problem with allowing apple.com.

Thanks a lot! Will try and let you know if it works for me
