Hello, everyone. I hope everyone here is having a great day.
I’m trying to set up a hotspot system with Mikrotik. I’m just getting to know it.
I followed the setup to understand what was done.
Everything works, the hotspot opens, asks for login and successfully authenticates. However, when browsing, it gives a timeout.
I notice that it uses two addresses from the DHCP pool, one from the client (necessary) and another for the hotspot itself. Why is that?
In the RB connections table, I see connections being originated by the IP from the pool obtained for the hotspot and not by the client’s IP, with the status “syn received”. It does a NAT that I don’t understand how it was done and why. However, I strongly believe that the problem is here.
Any support and/or material will be greatly appreciated.
Ps.: I found the Mikrotik documentation very poor in explanation and function, especially regarding this flow.
I using ROS v7.19 and add Picture Connection Table:
