I’ve configured hotspot, and after connecting to it it doesn’t redirect me to a hotspot login page after entering any adress in explorer, only when I enter 10.5.50.1 in explorer it then shows login page.
What seems to be the problem.
Try changing / adding to the walled garden allowed hosts / servers. If the hotspot loging page on the external server is not accounted for here it will not allow you. Try dns server name, ip network range, etc…
Make sure you have Internet access from the hotspot router (ping from terminal). I find if the Internet is not available, you will not be forwarded to the login page… logical, really
Yep, the router won’t be able to do a DNS lookup and thus the client won’t get a DNS response and will be presented with a ‘page can not be displayed’ instead of making an attempt. That’s why the IP address works.
But I don’t wan’t to use my hotspot for internet access. This hotspot is used to enter wireless network with more than 600 users.
I disabled lookup by dns, mikrotik should lookup by IP, so if I enter IP in explorer and it enters the page, so should lookup by IP do the same automatically but it doesn’t, then I tried to put DNS entry into mikrotik and in HotSpot setup I entered that mikrotik is the DNS server, and also redirecting didn’t work, so I think that DNS is not the problem.
Hai.
Peace all
Sorry when i am wrong…
I like this forum, as my record you are disabled “Internet Gateway” for 600 or more users, Ok, don’t field out DNS…etc, …
my answer is “Just set and field in 600 or more your browser clients” e.g: on IE6.0 goto open browser---->>tools----->>internet_option----->>start_page---->>set case as http://ip-your-hotspot/
cause: ‘login page’ show as default when you are enabled Internet Gateway and your browser clients need it. as far as i know…so sorry.
that’s simple solution without rule action in your router config :

Even without an internet connection, the login page should appear. I have suddenly developed the same problem and it doesnt make sense. With both the URL and the IP address I can get the login page. But the question is: What must one do to have it direct automatically when connection tracking is enabled, routes are all valid, proxy is setup, but the firewall chain on hs-unauth is NOT directing all http traffic (when anauthorized users try to browse) to port 64874 (dynamic firewall rule). I have tried torching the port and dont get any hits. However, when I try on port 80 it appears. It seems to me that that is where the chain is not working.
Problem is where does MT get the “idea” that user X is unauthorized? I tried adding hs-unauth to address list and dispite DHCP issuing addresses, my address list is not getting populated.
Open to suggestions.
hey, guis,
did you implemented that issue at last. because we can’t. hs login page does not appeared correctly if customer uses proxy server “behind” HotSpot, i.e.
[customer]-------------[HotSpotROS]-----------[ProxyServer]--------------[Internet]
