Hello!
I have set up a Mikrotik Hotspot, using RB133, R52H radio, and a desktop 5 dBi omni antenna just for testing (planning to buy 10dBi omni antenna)
My problem is: slow browsing on clients. Testing on speedtest.net gives fair results (600kbps down, 2000kbps up), but browsing web pages (locally hosted sites, even the hotspot login pages!) is very slow.
The Ethernet connection of the RB is also good (90mbits down, 60mbits up, tested by speedtest.net)
It’s certainly not an antenna issue, I’ve tested it from some 2 meters from the antenna, got same results.
The client reports excellent signal, but browsing is slow.
Before I’ve set up hotspot, I’ve tested it in standard AP mode, no speed prolems occured, as I recall.
I also ruled out DNS problems, tried loading the same page over and over, it’ not only slow at the first loading, it remains slow afterwards…
Do you guys have an idea about this problem?
Regards,
Petya
ps: CPU usage on the RB is below 3 percent.
