hi
I have a CRS125-24G-1s-2hnd-in.
I want to set up a wireless network for 300 users that they can connect to this network and fill a form. All users will fill the form at the same time in 30 sec.
This network is local and not establish in internet. Each packet that is sent by user is very low.
can I decrease user’s bandwidth down to 100kbs to increase number of connection?
how many Groove are needed to create such this network.
Thanx
Are they all going to be in the same location? If so, Groove is much too powerful. You need smaller devices with lower TX power.
The issue is not in the download speed, but in wireless interference. You need to decrease power, and make sure each device is on a different frequency.
300 users is actually not that many.
If you use dual band AP, 2GHz and 5GHz at the same time, you can serve them easily with 3-4 access points, even such as hAP ac2.
To piggyback on Normis’ answer, I’d add that your question is more 802.11 related than MikroTik.
You need to consider the area to cover and buy the required devices for that area.
Actuality, I would not reduce speed for users as it will prolong airtime which is not recommended. They need to send data as fast as possible to release the AP and let another device transmit.

I would go for at least 5mbps/user not 100kbos…
Why limit? It’s local traffic.

Indeed, I mised that.
