My CRS112-8P wouldn’t upgrade to 6.48.2, so I contacted support. They suggested that issue is lack of space on device and recommended upgrade via netinstall.
As part of netinstall device had storage reformatted and upgrade was successful, but I noticed that there is still only about 3MB free space after formatting drive.
Can someone tell me how much free space should be available on a freshly formatted drive in CRS112-8P? Do I have bad blocks eating up space in this unit?
“free space” (before netinstall) are low because something other than software and configuration are stored on memory, read this: http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/very-high-sector-writes/131330/1 (point 3 and 4)
this is also exist branding package and if your routerboard come from old version, probably one old copy of winbox.exe still inside (now removed by netinstall).
From one specific version, than I do not remember, winbox link are removed from html pages, but on firmware update the old winbox.exe are not cleared inside…
