How to assign a management IP to an interface?

I currently have my hAP ac2 set up as a switch for VLANs. I’m using eth2, a non-VLAN, non-isolated port, to manage the device. To replace this way of management, I’m trying to add an IP address in WinBox to eth5 (eth5 has VLAN ID 10 and is isolated to eth1, a trunk port) in order to manage the device, but I’m unable to reach it on this port with the assigned IP.

When I ping I get a host inaccessible error. I also notice I have no arp entry for the eth5 IP.
I’m not sure why I’m able to access the device with eth2 but not with eth5.

I’ve added my configuration for more information.

Thanks.

The configuration seems incomplete, to use the switch chip you have to create a bridge and add the ethernet ports to it. Additionally you cannot add IP addresses or services to child interfaces.

The basics are covered in https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Switch_Router and https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Switch_Chip_Features#Setup_Examples, however if you do not need wirespeed switching between ports configuring the bridge to be VLAN aware is less involved as covered in https://wiki.mikrotik.com/wiki/Manual:Interface/Bridge#Bridge_VLAN_Filtering and this comprehensive forum post http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/using-routeros-to-vlan-your-network/126489/1
