How to calculate number of max user sessions

How does one calculate the number of user sessions for a specific routerboard. I just purchased a Mikrotik hEX RB750Gr3 and want to know if it can handle up to 100 user sessions concurrently. No Hotspot will be used. But, in general would like to know where to find the specs to calculate the max concurrent user sessions.

Are you talking about customers using PPPoE, or users that can manage the router?

I think that my question was a little bit obvious, but..

Considering that we’re talking about PPPoE sessions, depends of some points:

  • How much traffic will be forwarded through the router?
  • How many firewall rules will be on it.
  • Connection tracking is enabled or not.

hEX RB750Gr3 has 2 CPU, 880 Mhz of frequency, and 256 MB of RAM, and I think maybe can handle 100 customers using PPPoE.

He says in the original post that he will not use hotspot or authentica the users. I guess the question is about general number of users that are routed through the router.

There is no real limit, it all depends on how fast each of them wants to download something, and how much are you filtering their traffic (more filters and queues cause CPU to work harder).
