http proxy log

is there an http web proxy log ?

if so where is it at?

‘/log print’, if there are not proxy logs.
Set ‘syste logging add topic=web-proxy action=’, and specify required action.
You can send logs to remote server, to store them on disk, memory.

ok great …

i can see a log however where is the file its writing the file to?

i loaded up the ftp client and logged into the server but i dont see any log file to download.

I recommend you to redirect logs to the remote server.
Redirect logs to the remote server, ‘system logging’.

in /system logging Actions → Remote → Remote address what IP should i put in?

i put in the server ip address and port 514 then in the log downloader i addedd the ip howver it keeps saying error

cylent, install log downloader on your PC (for Win), and specify this PC remote address as the remote server address.
Specifty ‘action=remote’ for logs, that you want to redirect to syslog server.

i did what you said. it now says “down” however the folder i selected is empty. no files

heres pictures:

whats wrong?

can you actually ping from the router to that log downloader pc ? and the other way?

Is this address 192.168.x.x (private) accessible from your router ?
argh, Normis replied first

you’re right. 199 is given to the pc from the dhcp_server and times out when i ping it from the server.
i have another ip, 101, given to me from hotspot and that one responds to ping

how can i make it only one ip? why two?

i think your configuration might be messed up. what two addresses you mean now?

ok. fist in routeros i have a dhcp server enabled.

[admin@MikroTik] ip dhcp-server> network
[admin@MikroTik] ip dhcp-server network> print
 # ADDRESS GATEWAY DNS-SERVER WINS-SERVER DOMAIN
 0 192.168.0.0/24 192.168.0.1 192.168.0.1
[admin@MikroTik] ip dhcp-server network>

[admin@MikroTik] ip pool> print
 # NAME RANGES
 0 dhcp_pool1 192.168.0.100-192.168.0.200

this is giving my pc an ip of 192.168.0.199

now comes hotspot.
i have a server setup with the address pool selected: NONE.

Now since my pc is connected to a switch connected to the router i am getting an ip from the dhcp server of 192.168.0.199
as soon as i log into hotspot i am getting another ip, 192.168.0.101 or whatever

i give up  please, go to the singapore training, it will be very very useful
why are you using the same range in hotspot and in dhcp, and why do you have two systems assigning dynamic addresses to one pc ? this is not normal

i dont know why this unusual for you.

when you setup a new hotspot server it’ll ask you what dhcp pool do you want to use. i merely picked the same pool i have. i can create a new one …

goto winbox, click IP, click Hotspot, click on the SERVERS tab, click on the RED PLUS sign
do you see where it says: ADDRESS POOL? ya. well i have it at none right now

Look at the HOTSPOT DEBUG in this Log.

I want to stop hotspot from giving out another IP. the dhcp server already gave an IP:
