Hello,
I have installed several dongles E353s-2 on this routers (ROS 6.27) without any problem, it’s recognized as PPP device and go on.
I’ve purchased a lot of E353 dongles, but I discover now they are E353W2-s. Panic!
The dongle is recognized as LTE device, but no IP is assigned, no route installed, no port present…
What can I do?
Is this device supported?
Can I “downgrade” to E353s-2 replacing firmware? and how?
Thank you very much.
The dongle is recognized as LTE
Well that’s a good start… is that LTE interface in (R)unning mode? If not, have you set the APN or PIN if required and what does show the LTE/info window ?
If LTE is (R)unning, have you added a dhcp client on it ?
LTE interface is in Running mode.
APN is set.
DHCP added, but nothing happens; same result assigning a static IP (172.21.163.2. LAN is the default 192.168.88.0).
LTE info opens an error window: “Couldn’t start - Modem does not have serial interface! (6)”
Most probably this is the problem, but how to activate this serial port?
Thank you
from terminal console:
system resource usb print
DEVICE VENDOR NAME SPEED
0 1:1 Linux 3.3.5 ehci_hcd RB400 EHCI 480 Mbps
1 1:3 HUAWEI HUAWEI HiLink 480 Mbps

It looks like this new dongle isn’t properly recognized by RouterOS. Do you have the latest ROS version with latest firmware ? You might have to send some supout file to support and wait for them to add this dongle in a next release…
Your modem is not present on thist list:

If You are desperated try to change Data Channel and Info Channel. Go to Interfece ppp, press Advance Mode button and get lucky.
