Improved forum appearance (CSS based)

I know, left menu is also a frame. As I said, it's not a problem, just a noticed change.

I just thought you meant this is an issue. For sidebar a free space is actually an issue, but for posts it's a "home", so now they have a kind of container and don't freely hang in nothing. Though, this change already exists since r15.

New update:
- Firefox version: mtForum_FF_r17.zip (34.3 KB)
- Other browsers version: mtForumOther_r17.zip (33.4 KB)

Fixed consequences of site update on 7 Jul 2026:

  • Returned elements order under a post
  • Fixed stupid highlight color in new "who reacted" list and added smooth hover transition
  • Removed abnormal underline, when hover on tab on user profile page and in other places
  • Fixed excessive height of second-level tabs on 'Notifications' tab on user profile page
  • Fixed no gap between 'New topic' and 'Drafts' buttons
  • Seems borders around input fields became lighter and less visible. Made them darker.
  • Fixed active item color on sidebar and in the user popup menu
  • Removed stupid left offset for "Me too" button
  • Fixed solution block in the first post again

Fixes:

  • Fixed too big font for posts content in compact mode (not sure when it was broken)
  • Fixed huge padding for post notices (like "pinned/unpinned topic" and similar)
  • Fixed different font sizes in top and bottom topic stats (probably also consequence of recent update, was ok before)
  • Fixed "More" menu had smaller font than sidebar (own bug)
  • Some small alignment fixes
  • Fixed double border around user card (own bug)

Some changes:

  • Added current mode string to the corner, just for information
  • Added smooth hover transition for navigation panel
  • Moved 'Bulk actions' panel on 'Drafts' page to the bottom to avoid items jumping down, when it appears; also fixed horizontal moving caused by vertical line on the left
  • Round corners for warnings on search page
  • Show some stats in 2 columns for more compact view on user summary page

Thank you!

Now, if you (or someone) could fix Winbox4 ... I know, it's not the same, but I can dream :sob:

It's going a wrong way from the very beginning, so I doubt it can be fixed even with sources. But I'm working on some fixes and improvements for WinBox 3 and will try to support it even if they brick it at some point. WinBox v3.43 ESR (bugfixes, improvements)

New update:
- Firefox version: mtForum_FF_r18.zip (36.9 KB)
- Other browsers version: mtForumOther_r18.zip (36.5 KB)

Fixes:

  • Improved visibility of posts counter badge in 'Users' popup panel invoked from topic map
  • Made lighter color for category description on 'All categories' page (site bug)
  • Fixed incorrect separator under time gap, when top embedded post is expanded (own issue)
  • Fixed current mode label color (own bug)
  • Removed stupid border that causes shifting and blinking, when hover on some items
  • Fixed abnormal gap on 'Drafts' page, when there is no topic excerpt
  • Fixed the issue, when expanded post on 'Activity' and 'Notifications' pages in user profile may cause frame width to abnormally expand (own bug, introduced in r17)
  • Fixed incorrect border radiuses of some elements in compact mode (own bug)
  • Fixed mess in 'Edit bookmark' dialog:
    • Placed time picker fields correctly
    • Changed design for better understanding and perception of elements
  • Fixed no separator under search field in some dropdown menus
  • Fixed barely visible outlines and background on expanded/focused fields
  • Fixed wrong separators in some dropdown menus
  • Fixed group header background on sidebar, when mouse button is pressed down
  • Fixed color and shadow hover transition time mismatch on navigation bar (own bug)
  • Fixed incorrect appearance of details block inside of another details block (own bug)
  • Some other alignment and sizing fixes

Changes:

  • Added smooth hover transition for links underline on hover
  • Just found out, that 'unread' and 'new' badges in categories list on 'All categories' page are clickable links (hi, stupid discourse designers). Made them blue color and underline on hover
  • Changed topic excerpt color on applicable subtabs for 'Activity' and 'Notifications' tabs in user profile (for better distinguishment)
  • Changed topic excerpt font to regular instead of bold for less intrusive appearance
  • Adjusted appearance of attached image link in collapsed posts on some tabs in user profile and also in topic excerpt
  • Underline topic titles on hover in different subtabs in user profile
  • Added separators on 'Summary' page in user profile for more organized view
  • Added link icon to clickable stats on 'Summary' page in user profile, moved them to second line and underline them on hover
  • Added outline for 'No notifications found' alert on 'Notifications' page in user profile
  • Updated metadata labels on 'Bookmarks' page
    • Placed bookmark comment and reminder above the title (own issue was causing a title to shift, resulting in total mess)
    • Moved reminder to the right
    • Changed comment and reminder color to clearly distinguish them from other data
  • Made blue 'Pin' color for latest topics list for consistency with regular topics list
  • Updated expanded and hover colors for category button on navigation bar
  • Changed forum logo drawing method. So, the fix below :down_arrow: is now available for all browsers :tada:
