install on x86

Hello ,
I have a work station with HDD 500GB - and I can’t install on it the mikrotik V6.32.2
he said to me that the disk is not bootable - how can it be?
when I use netinstall - I can the installation goes well
maybe mikrotik can’t support 500GB HDD?

Thanks ,

This sounds like a hardware issue, rather than a RouterOS issue

what could it be?

the disk is O.K - I can install on it and see it on the computer
maybe something on the BIOS?
I can see the disk on the x86 on the BIOS - so what else ?

Do you use SATA drive? As far as I know, RouterOS x86 supports IDE disk drives only.

yes I use SATA drive , didn’t know it…

I have also try to use a SATA to USB converter - also didn’t work

where does it say that Mikrotik doesn’t support SATA?

Thanks ,

x86 installer is really outdated.

We’ve had endless cases where we want to install and disks aren’t detected. Then we take the disks and put them in an older machine, install, and put the disks back into the production server where they work without any problems what so ever.

It’s almost like the installer doesn’t scan/detect all the disks/controllers that is supported by MT, but rather, just a small subset of it.

I have mange to make this work
I have install the HDD using external CD using the ISO file .

now it’s O.K

Thanks,
