iOS devices fail to connect to CAPsMAN WiFi (wifi-qcom) after SSID/password change via GUI - supout.rif attached [RouterOS v7.22]

Dear MikroTik Support Team,

Good day. I am writing to request assistance with a WiFi connectivity issue related to CAPsMAN configuration on RouterOS v7.22.

Environment:

Controller: RB1100x4

Access Points: cAPGi-5HaxD2HaxD (5 units)

RouterOS version: 7.22 (latest stable) on all devices

WiFi package: wifi-qcom

Configuration method: CAPsMAN scripts from official documentation:

Issue description: iOS devices (iPhone/iPad) are unable to connect to the WiFi network, while Android and Windows clients connect and operate without issues.

Sequence of events:

Initially, I applied the official CAPsMAN configuration script from the MikroTik documentation. All devices, including iOS, connected successfully.

I then modified the SSID and WiFi password via WinBox/WebFig GUI. After this change, iOS devices stopped connecting (authentication failure / unable to join network).

I spent several days troubleshooting: verified security profiles, checked provisioning rules, tested different encryption settings (WPA2/WPA3), and reviewed logs — no resolution.

As a test, I reset the WiFi configuration and re-applied the original script from the documentation. iOS connectivity was immediately restored.

To streamline future changes, I exported the working script, removed all security, configuration, and provisioning entries via GUI, and attempted to apply only three modified parameters (SSID, password, and country) via Terminal.

Immediately after executing the modified script, the system generated a critical error:

Request: Could you please help clarify:

Why might iOS devices fail to connect after SSID/password changes made via GUI, while other platforms remain unaffected?

Is there a known issue with modifying CAPsMAN security or configuration profiles via GUI in RouterOS v7.22 with the wifi-qcom package?

What is the recommended procedure for updating WiFi credentials in a CAPsMAN environment without disrupting iOS clients or triggering system errors?

Could the supout.rif file indicate a specific bug or misconfiguration that your team could analyze?

I would greatly appreciate any guidance or firmware/configuration recommendations to resolve this issue. Please let me know if you require additional logs, exports, or test results.

Thank you for your time and support.

  1. Contact seller
Contact your distributor for help and support, if the device is not directly purchased from MikroTik.

  2. Documentation
Check documentation and configuration examples. Maybe answer is already there.

  3. Prepare network setup brief
Give us a brief problem description that includes information about your network setup. Provide us with support output file (suppout.rif), that is created when problem appears, instruction how to make it.

  4. Limitations & reply
Technical support does not include training on TCP/IP. E-mail reply might take up to 3 business days.

I have already written to support on March 19, but unfortunately I still have not received a response(((

The issue with versions 7.22 and above is unrelated to the password change method.

CAPsMAN + 7.22+ only fails to connect on iPhone (iOS).

The problem is that it gets stuck after entering the password and clicking "Join," then remains unresponsive.

New devices running the original version (as long as they don't upgrade to version 7.22 or above) can function perfectly fine using their existing Wi-Fi settings.

Upgrading is only possible to version 7.21.3.

Device already upgraded to version 7.22 or above need to be downgraded back to below 7.21.3 using Netinstall.

Downgrading via Winbox is ineffective.
