I have and using hAP ac2.
Now i need to set up this router in the remote place where only GSM (LTE) network available.
I’ve turned on personal hotspot on iphone and plugged i to mikrotik USB port but it does not visible under Interfaces → LTE.
some phones have got a USB Sharing and this feature must be enabled at them. Try search that. Maybe you first share usb hotspot to some PC first ?
MikroTik can detect that as Ethernet emulation and he detect it or not.
If not then you can only do a supout.rif and send that diagnostic file to support@mikrotik.com.
We at forum can help with normal stuff, not if some not-compability stuff exist.
Thank you for your reply.
Yes, i know where is “personal hotspot” and i have enabled it. Phone shares internet, other devices can load internet (over USB or WiFi).
Regarding NON-compatibility… Would be very strange if Mikrotik will not compatible with Apple iphones where i can find this information?
iPhone is not good for this purpose. First of all, the iPhone battery is fragile, and it is discharging very fast. iPhones have many strong points, and this is one of the few weak points it has. For example, I like how easy it is to set up a new iPhone from an old iPhone. All you will need is to backup your old phone. Now you get your new iPhone and insert the Apple ID account on your new iPhone. That wall you need to do, now all your data from your old iPhone will be automatically transferred to your brand new mobile phone.
