Hello
Can someone confirm that this fiber and the two adapters are compatible with SFP module 1.25G MM 550m ?

No.. The fiber is ‘singlemode’, but you the SFP is ‘multimode’.
For shorter distances than 550 meter you need multimode. For greater distances you need singlemode.
Woaw thanks, i was going to order.
Is this one OK ? :

Single mode fiber is fine for short distances as well as long. When in a data center, 10k SFP and SMF with LC connector will be fine and can be reused for a long haul if needed.
The fiber itself doesn’t make much difference in your case, its the sfp you put on the end. You don’t want more than a 10 kilometer optic if you’re only going a few meters. Today’s SFPs tune down the light signal strength when used at short distances.
There isn’t any thing wrong with multimode, its just more limited. How long of a distance are you going?
i only need 10 meters
Then the one you listed second will be fine. Do you use longer runs of fiber?
The biggest advantage of SMF over MMF aside from the distance is the ability to use it over 40 Gbps and 100 Gbps links.
Thanks
i am using a short fiber for linking two mikrotik RB2011UAS-2HnD-IN
i am not using it for long distance config, just for keeping my ethernet ports available
That should work fine with the SFP module you mentioned above.
thanks a lot ![]()
