Hi all

I am preparing to move on to ipv6, so I need to upgrade to mikrotik v5.
Currently I have various licences, most are upgrade to “v3x”

  • Before I go to v5 do I have to go through v4? (last version of 4, so I dont loose current configuration)
  • Are there any upgrade plans for v5? Discounts for existing users or I have to buy a new licence as initial cost?

those which are ‘upgradable to v3.x’ can be upgraded for free if you use Netinstall.

Can I move on direclty from 3x to 5x without loosing config ?
Or I have to go through v4 ?

yes, you can go to v5 directly with netinstall
just in case, make an export file before you upgrade. “/export file=name” will give you a human readable backup file with the RSC extension, so you can recover in case of unexpected problems
