Load Balance over same subnet

Thanks in advance for any help!

I want to do some manual load balancing.

I have the following setup. I am marking some traffic to be Natted out to the IP on Port 1 and some traffic to be Natted to the IP on Port 2

CCR1009-----------------Wireless Link A------RB2011LS Bridge A --------Wireless Link A------- Port 1 Public IP /24
Ports Bridged
-------------------------Wireless Link B-----Bridge B---------------------------Wireless Link B -------Port 2 Public IP Same /24

When I assign a Public IP to port 2 on the same subnet as the IP address on port 1 ,downstream traffic destine to the port 1 IP address starts flowing down wireless link B and of course it gets dropped because the IP address it needs to reach is on Port 1.

Upstream traffic is still sent out of Port 1 but tries to return to Port 2. I have verified this by watching the traffic on the RB2011LS.

If I assign a private IP to port 2 , Natted back to a public IP on the CCR1009 everything works fine. Marked traffic travels through the appropriate port.

Any thoughts?

Kind Regards,
Bryon
