Loading Kernel crash

All,

Our company purchased a brand new CCR1009-7G-1C-1S+, I had it setup and running for merely a week before coming in one morning with no internet and the screen on this Mikrotik saying “Loading Kernel”. It never loaded, it was stuck. I unplugged all power and plugged back in, the screen never came back on, the LEDs do come on. This unit was doing DHCP, some QOS, a few firewall rules, etc. We have a RB2011UiAS-RM which this was going to replace. That unit was left installed for fall back. The RB2011UiAS-RM ran for 3 years without a single issue in the same location/setup/cables and roughly the same network settings.

Regular reset on the router didn’t work. There was no sign of life from any of the ethernet ports.

Using the Netinstall software version 6.41.2, the new CCR1009 router never appears in the list of routers/devices after performing the correct reset button hold for 15 seconds until the USR light goes out and having the netinstall software and ip addresses configured correctly. Tried multiple Ethernet ports on the router itself (according to the instructions 7/8 are the only ports for netinstall).Tried multiple computers with netinstall, no firewall, etc. Followed the specific instructions found online with no luck. Netinstall and computer had static IPs. example 192.168.10.1 for computer and 192.168.10.5 for netinstall.

I connected a null modem serial code, connected it to the Mikrotik and used putty to see what was happening during the netinstall run up. Here is the output from the router:

There was a strange issue after the first setup where after I had it setup, removed power to move into the server room and plugged back in, the setup was gone. It had defaulted back to out of box even though I had saved, rebooted a few times and the settings were confirmed applied. I did manage to save a backup before it went down this time and restored that backup in the server room which is when it started service and lasted about a week.

If I can restore this router using the serial cord, that would be fine as well. I will be looking for some instructions going this route.

Any help would be much appreciated.
