Looking for WISP engineer

Hello everyone,

First post on this forum, even if we’ve been using Mikrotik products for a while.

One thing leading to another, I’ve ‘inherited’ a WISP on Wallis and Futuna, a French Pacific Island halfway between Fiji and Samoa. Beautiful place: lagoon all to yourself, people greeting you with flowers, grandpas taking a nap on the beach. Only problem is that I’m no WISP expert.

Best I can do, and I’ve earned that right the hard way, is work out whether someone is trying to bullshit his way around.

Our network is in need of a facelift, both in our NOC, where we need to step things up to attract lucrative contracts, and in our access network, where we’re stacking up anomalies. Our links are Ubiquiti coupled with some Mikrotik routerboards at the tower level and at the NOC, where we have a satellite dish. We’re also probably going to add some Omnitiks where we have enough customer density.

A couple of Australian companies are helping us with this network upgrade, but sadly, although they’re very good and very helpful, Australia’s a long way away. So we’re looking to hire someone for a few months (minimum) and, alongside these companies, help us put the whole network right. Put simply, this means providing stable internet and clear voice services to our standard customers, and customised solutions to our corporate customers (integrate their PABX with our up and coming voice services, dedicated bandwidth, PtP links across their sites, etc.).

Do you guys know where I can find someone with that sort of expertise? Ideally someone who’s done it before, someone interested in a challenge, someone who’s not going to ask for an arm and a leg. :sunglasses:

Cheers!
Albert

Maybe We can help you too.
Write me PM.

Seems like I’m not allowed to PM. And to fix that, I need to contact a forum admin, but if I can’t PM them, then how am I meant to do that? Catch-22.

angboontiong - If your company has someone who feels like spending a good deal of 2012 on a friendly Pacifc Island, then shoot me an email.

czolo - Sorry, can’t PM you, please email me.

Have you already found the right person for the job? I have a friend who would be interested as well. I sent him the link now and hope he will apply for it! It sounds amazing! Unfortunately I don’t have the skills. But I really want to have a job abroad soon! I can already see myself in a new position where I will deliver flowers by post to reading to my friends there and tell them how much I miss them!

we could speak about it  depends on salary and other conditions etc.
could help with IPTV service(linux servers) for customers, as wireless installations and fiber optic lines
