Hi,
I’ve just bough a Ltap router with a LoRa8 pcie card, upgraded to the latest testing firmware (v6.47beta8) + LoRa package, and configured LoRa with TheThingsNetwork EU server (router.eu.thethings.network, up port 1700, down port 1700).
I can see the LoRa packets on the TTN console and winbox, but none of my LoRaWAN devices (Ascoel, Adeunis, Elvaco, Arduino, LoPy…) can join the TTN network. When I shut down the Ltap gateway and plugged another gateway (i.e Multitech Conduit), my devices can join the network again.
The Join-requests are sent correctly to TTN, which in turns send Join-accepts received by the Ltap, but it seems these Join-accepts are not transmitted back to the devices (or at least the devices reject them).
Hello,
Please, generate supout.rif file on your device and send it us using our new service desk portal https://help.mikrotik.com/servicedesk/.
Also, please, add screenshots of channel configuration used on your other brand gateway.
Thanks for your answer, I’ve contacted the support and sent supout.rif and Multitech GW config screenshot.
In the meantime I’ve found that the issue was related with the downlinks. If a device has already joined the network on Multitech, the uplinks are transmitted correctly via the Mikrotik GW (even if I shut down the Multitech GW), but downlinks won’t work. The downlinks are shown on the TTN console, but don’t appear on the winbox LoRa traffic page. This could explain why the Join requests are received by TTN, but the accept responses never reach the devices.
If someone has a clue while waiting for the support answer, don’t hesitate
The support just gave me the solution: in the LoRa device configuration, don’t set the “Antenna Gain” parameter to anything than 0db (default value).
It seems to be a bug that will be fixed soon!
