In the senario i can only login into a mikrotik device with mac-telnet, from which I can scan from /interface wireless and i see the scan results but how do i connect/select to the AP i want from this list ?

I would recommend to run scan from Winbox.
Click on Connect in scan table, then SSID of AP will be assigned to your wireless interface and it will be connected.
