Managment ip for cAP

Dear, members

my RB1100ahx2 is trunking with Cisco switch WS-3560G-24PS and config trunking port on cisco switch to allow vlan 99,100,200 for cAP (vlan-100 for 2.4Ghz, vlan-200 for 5Ghz) and vlan-99 is for management ip for cAP and cisco switch. I use bridge vlan filtering to configure trunking on RB1100Ahx2 and cAP can provision and vlan-100 and 200 work as expected but vlan-99 not working.

what was wrong that prevent vlan-99 from working?

Thanks

An export of your cap config would be good to see along with a “show int Gi0/xx switchport” off your switch from the port the cap is connected to.

Your vlan 99 comes untagged from your switch - so it’s native to your cap.
remove the vlan interface from your bridge and move the dhcp-client directly to the bridge.

And as a side note: you wouldn’t need the option “use service tag” - wthis is only needed for QinQ tunnels.

Dear Chris,
Thanks you very much for your reply. so is it possible to use vlan99 as tagged? i use to remove native vlan99 from switch but CAP are not get ip.

Sure thing.
The easiest way would be adding back your vlan interface to the bridge and moving the dhcp-client to that vlan interface.
Make sure you do not use the option “use-service-tag”.
