We’re running a test with a mANTBox ax 15s as the AP and an SXTsq-5axD as the CPE at a distance of around 400 meters, but the results are quite poor. I’d blame it on the lack of NV2 support, but honestly, I didn’t expect such bad performance in a P2P setup — we’re barely hitting even 2–10 Mbps.
As soon as we try to pass any traffic, the data rates drop down to around 7 Mbps and get stuck there, almost to the point where connectivity is about to be lost.
I’ve tested up to version 7.19rc2.
Is there a way to lift the regulatory limits, or does anyone have a sample config for this setup?
Distance parameter changes are required on links over 2km, so not relevant here.
OP can start whit narrower channels (start whit 20mhz wide, at least in troubleshoot stage) and test different channels. Do check channel output limitations in your country, and stay away from weak ones. Also device placement can interfere whit link quality and stability. Monitor modulations while testing.
We added a mANTBox ax 15s to our network. I really want to type a lot of profanities at the moment. Everything works fine when they radios are all close to each other for testing, but in the field, 85 km from the nearest anything and *********** *** ********** *****. Back to nv2 for now. I am still checking that I haven’t made any stupid mistakes before posting anything more.
Hello Friend, I would like to tell you that I recently purchased two devices of the new generation AX from MikroTik and the same thing was happening to me, incredible speeds in the laboratory, but as soon as I went out with the devices on the street, specifically in a 5km link, the speed I was getting was terrible, until I saw that it was necessary to configure the “distance” field in both devices a little above the actual distance of the link, that is, in my case, all the values that were below 5km, meant that I did not exceed 1mb of speed, once that value was above the actual distance of the link, it did not matter if I set it to 6km or 30km, the modulation rates shot up and I passed 100mb without a problem with a single TPC connection, I hope my comment is helpful and you get good results!
Another thing to do, is to upgrade RouterOS. A lot of wireless issues were recently fixed in the latest RouterOS upgrade, which has the new qualcomm AX drivers.
