Hi, I’m struggling searching on Google a service which can let connect my Mikrotik to an european server, unfortunately many of them are IP blocked here in Russia, others probably will be blocked soon. I would be glad to find this service within the community, paid of course, the porpouse is only to watch Youtube from TV, estimated bandwith about 10 megabit. In future there may be other similar requests. I hope the post doesn’t broke any forum rule, if so please excuse me. You may kindy reply by email, thank you a lot!
No one (except maybe the forum administrators) can respond to you by e-mail as the e-mail address you have entered when registering to the forum is not shown to other users and Personal Messages only worked for several brief periods. You can use the approach from this post if you generate your own key pair, but you’ll never know whether the guy who will respond and offer you the private VPN service will be a good European soul wishing to help or an FSB agent wishing to catch you.
So I’d suggest you order a virtual server on some public VPS hosting service (like Linode, Vultr, Azure, Amazon, …?), run a Linux distribution on it (or, if you don’t know how to set up an SSTP VPN server on it, a Mikrotik CHR), and make it your own VPN server. As you’ve offered to pay to a person here, you should be able to pay to such a provider as well. At one of the above providers, a virtual machine that is sufficient for your purpose costs $6 per month; if you’d choose to use the CHR, you’d have to use a P1 license because 1 Mbit/s would not be sufficient for your needs, but even @Normis seems to have no problems with people using trial licences: http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/how-many-demos-level1/178272/3
Thank you, I ressure you I’m not an agent
anyway I understand and this approach seems to be interesting, virtual machina that runs a SSTP server, and if I understood right, I need also to pay for a CHR license, correct?
There is nothing on internet that gives already me a paid virtual mikrotik platform? This will save me time for all things above.
Thank you!
Unfortunately here there aren’t private messages, I’ve figured it out now, sorry.

I’ve checked this they give for 4€ month 2TB bandwith and 25GB space, well.. I just need bandwith.. maybe there is something cheaper around
Have you checked your mailbox recently?
Or you can use CHR on a remote/cloud VPS. Never tried it, but there was a recent thread about CHR on Oracle’s “free forever” cloud:
http://forum.mikrotik.com/t/how-to-install-mikrotik-chr-on-oracle-cloud-always-free-instance/160515/1
I’m sure there are hosting service for CHR too.
SSTP has decent speeds with CHR where VPS provider has correct passthrough of AES-hw encryption AND you specify AES256-GCM encoding (while AES256-SHA doesn’t enable Hw.Crypto flag for some reason). I personally do not know what exactly means “correct passthrough” but I’ve seen around 50-70Mbps on decent Scalable CPU and over 300Mbps on Xeon E5 when both had Hw.Crypto flag enabled - all on KVM, but decent result was only when CHR reported RedHat KVM, others were QEMU. Your device also has to support this (hap ac seems to not, but hap ax already does). So I did Bandwidth test through SSTP and had CHR ↔ ax3 150 send + 300 receive simultaneously (300 Mbps is my home Internet bandwidth limit and bad upload speeds because ISP sucks).
Hi mates, thank you for your kind answers and support. I’ve activated a trial account on Aruba, they give you 20€ for testing, and the most economic option cost 3€ per month. I’ve instaled there CHR and made some tests, I got abotu 50megabit/s (probably they limit each connection to it) with wireguard and about 27 with SSTP. Maybe I can try to manage a bit the MTU to improve the speed.
The CPU will come about 20% for encription, I think can be a good solution. I’ve activated the Mikrotik 60days test for CHR, I’ll buy a P1.
Amm0 I would ask you if I understand good, Oracle’s gives a free of cost cloud forever, where is possible somehow to run a CHR image? Have you done it? Is it working ok? Where the server is located?
Thank you for reporting
I haven’t tried their cloud. And your locale may add more complication, dunno. But some folks in forum did get Oracle+CHR working, but seems to require some very exact steps:

Just for your info: I’ve set up CHR’s in Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure for SSTP access and have run into issues. I am not sure the always free setup has enough bandwidth for YouTube. You would need to check. The paid tiers are pretty reasonably priced, but bandwidth can add up quickly. I’ve also had to mangle mss down to 1200 or less on connected systems before they worked. As for using it from Russia: Oracle stopped doing business in Russia after the business in Ukraine ramped up.
