Memory Usage

I am running Dude ver 0.91 and have experienced memory overloads on ocassion. I am also getting an error stating something about the version of the server not matching the version of the software (I will pay more attention to the exact error next time).

I came in this morning and found that winXP was reporting my virtual memory to be low. I took a look at the processes as I suspected dude. I found both dude and dudew However, it didn’t seem to show either was using very much memory. Memory usage, including swap, was at 699MB. I shut down the dude process and immediately memory usage dropped to 155MB so it was indeed dude eating up all the memory.

It seems that this is worse with remote access (using http).

Not sure if this is a known issue or not, but reporting it for your information and comment.

Which process exactly was it (dude.exe, dudes.exe or dudew.exe)? It would be helpful if you could send us your export file for inspection to support@mikrotik.com

File is on it’s way via email.

I’ve just restarted my Dude service (2.0 final running on Win 2000 Server), because dude.exe was consuming over 600Mb RAM (on a 512MB machine, so that’s bad :smiling_imp: ). Now it’s back to about 28Mb and seems to stay there.

Anyway, something in The Dude was running wild and I thought I’d let you know. This issue seems to be happening to some of use for almost a year now, so there are still some memory-bugs in The Dude…

Besides some bugs: love the program! Thanks for your efforts.
