Mikrotik / Bluetooth !!!

hello

is there any way to integrate bluetooth connection with Mikrotik ?

regards

why?

you can share videos , mp3’s , messages , weather and currency , even you can make chat rooms .

you can share videos

with a router??

next will be to integrate mp3 melodies and a microphone (speaker already present) and then replace your Nokia with a RouterBOARD

I’m still screaming for SuperMario theme in Wiki

like normis sed not everyone can get what thay want!

Chupaka..

I have that script here if you want it…

Oh… and I have “We wish you a merry Christmas” as well…

I can only see the idea for Bluetooth Serial ports and connecting cellphones (Modem and SMS).
But the pain of not having a 100% reliable connection, is more frustrating than using a cable…

please, add it to Wiki =)

I see no reason to make laugh on man. What he asked is perfectly reasonable. There are lots of mobile devices that do not have WiFi but they do have Bluetooth.

give a practical example of this. bluetooth can only transfer files, it is no substitution to wifi

Heh, Instead of the beeps at startup, have a mp3 sound..

But was thinking, could be trippy to have a bluetooth PAN option..

Be fun supporting all the dongles AND keep the ROS install smallish though.

Dude, you’re in the complete wrong forum.
This forum has nothing to do with Playstation 3, gaming, consumer products or bluetooth for that matter, although this specific thread tries does mention it.

Playstation 3 could make a great router!

Yeah, a RouterOS Cell port would make really powerful router

Agreed, it isn’t a substitution for WiFi, but it is a suitable alternative to a wired USB or serial connection.

The most obvious example I can think of is using Bluetooth to link (tether) a cell phone to a RouterOS box allowing the phone to be used as a modem “wirelessly”. In this mode, the functionality could theoretically be the same as if it were plugged in via USB or serial.

I personally don’t need this feature, but can easily see how it could be useful in some cases (like an in-car PAN to WiFi gateway - for mobile event hotspots, law enforcement, amongst others).

I agree, but I don’t think bluetooth support will be coming anytime soon

Have you aver used Bluettoth besides file transfer? It can substitute WiFi perfectly. BT connection allows devices to access Internet in similar manner as WiFi connection. There is no functional difference.

That is aceptable answer. I do not understand why MT stuff always comes with false answers like “you do not need it”, or “that does not work” or similar. Isn’t it better if you say how things really are: you do not want or you are not interested to provide what is asked for.

or ‘there are much more important things to do’
