I do have Mikrotik CCR1036-12G-4S - and I do use the Mikrotik built in Radius server to authenticate the users, every thing is working good except that the Radius server is frequently hangs and not responding to users login request and I have to restart the Mikrotik in order to fix this issue.
Looking for help
Thanks.
RouterOS version? Users number?
Is very strange, I use four RB1100AHx2 with ~800 users eachone (RourterOS 6.7) with only one user-manager server (RouterOS 6.15 and another user-manager for backup obviously…) and I never have one problem with user-manager 6.x
this issue happened with me with ver. 6.14 and with 6.15 still as it’s, the Radius some times working fine for 48H and some times stop responding after 6H of reboot.
but now it’s a frequent issue.
try to
clear-log
and
rebuild
the database, after
session remove [find where active=no]
i got the following reply from one of Mikrotik technical support:
Try to disable /ip firewall layer7 rules, and then check your RADIUS server operation
i disabled the layer7 rules and i’ll monitor the Radius server performance then i’ll update this post to help the Mikrotik users facing same issue.
update:
I disabled the Firewall layer 7 protocol as requested from the support but the problem remain the same!
