No, it doesn’t matter, it can discover a switch even with different IP range, because MDP works on L2 level. @JimF have you tried to reset the device config?

Wait a minute.

Winbox only connects to RouterOS, NOT to SWOS.

You usually need your PC to have static IP of 192.168.88.2 (netmask 255.255.255.0) to connect to the 192.168.88.1 via a browser.
