MikroTik rb4011 as MeshPortal with addtional MikroTik MeshPoints

Dear forum,

I have a MikroTik rb4011igs+5hacq2hnd-in centrally installed. I want to enhance my SSID’s to perimeter places like garden and garage. Is it possible that the MikroTik rb4011igs+5hacq2hnd-in acts as a Mesh-Portal and I install other MikroTik AP’s as Mesh-Points (what would be your recommendation regarding type + mode)? Does RouterOS support 802.11s?

Thank you very much

Would it be possible to use a MikroTik RouterBOARD 435G with two MiniPCI Wifi cards - 1x wifi card to distribute the SSID in the garage environment, and the other one as uplink? Additionaly can the GbE ports be used to bridge wired clients into the uplink Wifi SSIDs / VLANs?

Would other MikroTik AP’s work?

OmniTik Series or the new wAP AC with 2x GbE.

The idea is the following:

RB4011(Meshportal: 2.4GHz|5GHz) ↔ MikroTIk AP (MeshPoint: 2.4GHz|5GHz) — 2x wired GbE connection bridged into uplink Mesh SSID’s + additional wireless clients on MeshPoint.

Do I have to configure one interface exclusively for Mesh-Operations? So if I have a AP with 2 physical wireless interfaces and just have one for providing the SSID and the other one for mesh interfacing? In my case the RB4011 already has configured SSID’s (VAP’s partioning) on both wireless interfaces.

Thanks.

Would maybe a MikroTik device with 2x GbE ports and a dual-band wifi module as some kind of wifi uplink (bridge) a possible option?

I could configure this device (positioned in the garage) in station-bridge mode and establish a link by 2.4 GHz to the RB4011. In addtion I could create a vAP with the same SSID on 5 GHz. All traffic would be Layer 2 bridged to the uplink 2.4 GHz (?). It is no mesh, but would it work?
