Need some help setting up -install the two units in subject box. Arrived with not set up instruction in box.
The Groove will be attached to a sail boat about 1/4 mile from house which has Wifi. Wish to use the Groove to grab the house wifi and use on boat. Will use RB951G to supply wifi net work on boat for three users. I have little experience in installing this type of techie stuff. I understand how to wire hardware, but clueless on how to install on Windows PC 7.
Google search some help. No idea what IP address of Groove is, RB951G IP is written on box. Is there an step by step guide to set these on PC. Just looking for basic set only, grab wifi from house using groove, wifi net work using signal from Groove using RB 951G.

I am trying to connect to wifi from house, but would also like to able to pick up other wifi point, etc marina we stay in.
Have loaded software and can see wifi points available, eg house. When I click on to connect, bottom right of utility screen goes to search but does not connect.

If you haven’t already done it, install the latest rOS v6.17 and upgrade the firmware in System->Routerboard.
The repeater setup will probably only work if your home network is a Mikrotik Network and it will definitely not work with other public hotspots you encounter while traveling.
On the Quick Set tab you should set your Groove as a CPE & check that Wireless Network has Address Aquisition = Automatic. LAN Network should be DHCP Server with DHCP range set and NAT enabled.
On the Wireless tab I would set the Mode to Station Pseudobridge.
You will probably need to add the basic firewall rules.
To other boater wanting equipment for onboard I would suggest getting the Groove 52HPn rather than the GrooveA 52HPn. They are cheaper and will work straight out of the box with the factory settings.
